Hidden Magic: The Adventures of Saffron Browne
Saffron plopped down on her belly and turned her head until her ear was pressed tightly against the rough weave of her grandmother’s anique oriental rug. “There you are,” she cooed to the tiny black kitten hiding beneath the green velvet settee. Saffron remembered calling it a couch three years earlier, the first time she visited Belfry Manor, when she was six years old. Her grandmother had made this odd half sigh, half harumph sound and told the her it was a “settee”, that everything has a proper name and intelligent children use them.
I think the grandmother is my spirit animal. xD
The grandmother is based on my mother. Hehe.
Sounds like a very sharp woman.
